Going Home
This performance is concerned with the cultural conflict and questions of identity faced by those who live in the border zone of Mexico and the United States. It uses a physical language to depict and explore the resulting culture of violence, which is particularly directed towards women.
The women of Juarez who face the threat of violence or murder everyday are taken as a specific example as the performer questions how she can possibly relate to them.
From the personal to the political, an attempt is made to resolve some fragments of feelings and pieces of knowledge. What are the barriers or borders in place within us and how do these relate to other borders, both physical and metaphorical?
