Self-portrait in an ant-hill British Premiere
Venue: Arch 3 East at The Arches

Yann Marussich is motionless in a 2m x 1m x 0.5m window accommodating an ant-hill. On each of the longer sides, three headphones are diffusing three different sound sources. On each of the shorter sides of the window, two flat screens are showing close-ups of the ants and of the body of the artist, live recorded with four mini-cameras hidden in the ant-hill. Yann Marussich will be motionless in the window for between three and five hours.

Yann Marussich was born in Geneva in 1966. A dancer and performer, he has created about twenty performances and choreographies since 1989. From 1993 to 2000 he was co-director of the Usine Theatre in Geneva. Nowadays he turns to the solo performance and body-art. His previous work Bleu Provisoire a performance about immobility, has been presented in several festivals in Europe.
