NUMB 01
Enter into this durational performance and you'll encounter a drifting environment of sound and image, at times completely black, but never accidental. NUMB 01 is, in fact, a caringly controlled live performance containing climactic moments - think of creative turbines moving into a higher speed, and go with that flow.
NUMB 01 is designed to tease and stimulate perceptions. Its a resonant matrix, a sense triggering field consisting of layered primal aesthetic matter, drifting in position, shape, temperature and consistency; it is an image in motion. The synchronicity and a-synchronicity of the movement and shape of the acoustic space in relation to that of the visual space create a perception of homogeneity, immersion and distance - between both sound and image and also between the visitor and the artwork.
Created and produced by Ulf Langheinrich, member of Granular Synthesis, he is assisted by Tanja Tomic (compositing and editing) and Wolfgang Schwarzenbrunner (compositing and editing, live assistance).
