The Slide Show
Beyond the edges of the family photo, on the other side of the frame, exists a whole host of narratives vying for attention. Along with the joys of celebration, of wedding, school portrait or seaside snap, there are times that are best left forgotten, consigned to the darkest oubliette, there to fade like a past life.
The Slide Show is a digital matrix of sound, video and monologue that explores family photography, relationships and memento. Containing a database of five primary pieces and each of their components, the work uses DVD technology to randomly configureing these components to unearth an array of alternative narratives.
