[+] SILKE MANSHOLT (UK)
In memoriam nature
‘Let me believe that I am able to let you go, may I be prepared for your death that I fill my heart now with every movement of your beauty. And let me forgive those who never saw you.’
A ceremony. With or without pain. A last attempt at resurrection, a linking back or forward to how it all starts and ends. The phoenix offering her gold, reanimating the link between nature and society. There is the unfathomable stillness in every simple thing in every instant of life, not before and not after. In fact the ultimate truth is: nothing you could think of. And why bother rescuing your mind?
The artist would like to thank Nikki Milican (New Moves International), Lois Keidan and Daniel Brine (LADA, London), Billy Cowie, and Liz Aggiss for their ongoing support. This performance was commissioned by the Chelsea Theatre, London.
