Richard Layzell and Tania Koswycz (UK)
The Manifestation
The Manifestation is the culmination of a five-year relationship between Richard Layzell and Tania Koswycz. Tania was one of four artists created for The Studio Project at Firstsite in Colchester England in 2002. Tania stepped into centre ground and played a key role in the installation The Room of Freeflow for Nightwalking at GDA and South Bank Centre London. In 2005 she became a key collaborator and the intense period of research for The Manifestation began. This has included public and private cultural engagements stretching from Dundee to Bermondsey, and the tracing of a historical and architectural arc.
The space thick with words, stumbling blocks and gold leaf. We’re talking.
The Manifestation is a major touring installation, which explores the dialogue as a dynamic point of conflict and collaboration.
+ Key Notes – Speaking Out
This linguistic tour de force comes from the inner core of an artist who first performed at the NRLA twenty years ago. The work is inspired by the recent uncovering of ‘Suit the Action to the Word’ by Dutton Cook (1829–1883) and the need for plain speaking.
Settle down. Listen up. You me plenty.
Richard Layzell is an honorary associate of the NRLA.
