The Fault between Us
David Fennessy (world premiere)
The Rite of Spring
Igor Stravinsky
A completely new choreography to Stravinskys great classic, devised by Eric Tessier Lavigne of Tartan Chameleon, is paired with a new companion piece commissioned by Paragon for
new territories.
David Fennessy, a prodigious new talent in Scotland, has used this commission to explore our primal relationship with the Earth and the seismic sound world of tectonic plates that are at one moment fused, at the next drifting apart.
Lavigne and Fennessy have conceived a dramatic metaphor for our human relationships that represents our fundamental desire to merge and emerge, and the constant forming and reforming of fault lines between us. In the version for 2 Pianos, Stravinskys groundbreaking music will be brought to life as though it was being heard and seen for the first time.
