Stravinsky Project Part 1

What thrills eye and mind and heart is the grace of Clarks movement language I salute this beautiful and cogent work of art.  The Financial Times

Michael Clark made contemporary dance interesting, watchable and relevant to a whole new generation. His use of contemporary music and collaborations with renowned bands, fashion designers and visual artists including The Fall, Wire, Bodymap, Leigh Bowery, Trojan and Sarah Lucas are legendary. For a while, he side-stepped the dance scene, but his return to making work has allowed another generation as well as his long-standing fans to enjoy exceptional dance that is as dynamic in its thinking as it is in its choreography.

Split into two halves, one almost the antithesis of the other, the core of O is Clarks definitive version of Apollo (to Stravinskys score), plus a new work set to heart-pumping music by Wire and The Velvet Underground among others.

With his company of eight dancers, Clark takes ideas of fullness becoming empty, the hole becoming whole, negative space becoming positive to create a totally new framework of O his ground zero.
