Marilyn Arsem has been creating live events since 1975, ranging from solo gallery performances to large scale, site specific works with multiple performers. Arsem has presented work at festivals, alternative spaces, galleries, museums and universities throughout Europe, Asia and North/South America. At recent festivals she has created site-specific works responding to the history, landscape and materiality of the location. Arsem is the founder of Mobius Inc, an interdisciplinary collaboration of artists now in its twenty-ninth year. She is a full-time faculty member at the school of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston where she heads the performance area and teaches in the graduate program.
