This work is perhaps a disarming of audience (YOU) and of artist (I) by the sharing of a tender moment or a series of moments.
Or an unmaking and remaking of what happens between us in a coming together to share and explore the possibilities of where do I end and you begin and what might happen between us if I ask you to do something for me.
Or perhaps its about what happens when we sit for a short while in a space where not a lot happens.
Kira OReillys practice stems from a fine art background employing performance, video, installation and photography with which to consider the body as a site in which narrative threads of the personal, sexual, social and political knot and unknot in shifting permutations.
Since 1997 her work has been exhibited widely throughout Europe, Australia and Hong Kong. Most recently she has been an artist in residence at SdymbioticA, the art science collaborative research lab University of Western Australia funded by a Wellcome trust sciart award.
