‘I intend to show that artwork is alive, gets old, and regenerates, using a narrative construction. Wine represents blood or energy flow, white cotton human skin, and t-shirts human bodies.
Drawing is my primary means of expression, as well as a snapshot of my inner thoughts. It allows me to represent my thoughts on surfaces, and shows me what I want to be. Even when I make three-dimensional objects or devise a performance they are based in drawing. Improvising with other artists in a performance is the same as the act of drawing for me. My work always relates to life and its meanings. Life consumes energy, yet what remains projects something beautiful onto our lives, from which we can tell where we are and we are going.’

‘We do small revival in daily life, it’s like a sunrise.’

Born in Japan, 1978, I now live and work in London.
