A Daily Ritual to Capture the Presence of Everybody
These performances take place for camera.

Each day as many members of the public as possible will be gathered in a different part of the Tramway building for a group photograph. You will be placed and posed. A local photographer will record the scene, with each days photograph added to a growing exhibition.
This sequence of pictures will place you audience, artists, programmers, technicians as equally present and equally participating.

You are welcome to be a part of every picture. Check the daily diary for the time and location of each days shoot.

Local Review of Necessary Amenities (Published with the Daily Diary)
Resulting from a detailed survey and compiled for those who Need A Little Respite, the LRNA will guide you to everyday necessities within five minutes walk of Tramways bar.

Now Thats An Idea!
Part study room, part swap shop, this installation provides a creative space for a two-way exchange between those called artist and those called audience.

You are invited to donate a text that articulates an idea that inspires your work, your life, your beliefs. It could be held in a book, a magazine, be expressed in your writing, or that of another: originals or copies are acceptable.

For the duration of the NRLA, your donation will be displayed anonymously alongside other submissions for all attendees to browse at their will. On the final day, those who attend The Taking will select a text, be informed who donated it and take it away.

If you are attending the NRLA 2006, hand your donation directly to FrenchMottershead. If you are not attending, email your donation to idea@frenchmottershead.com, or post it to FrenchMottershead, c/o New Moves International Ltd., PO Box 25262, Glasgow G1 1YW. Do not write your name on your donation but do include it in the envelope. Deadline for email and postal submissions is 31 January 2006.
Rebecca French and Andrew Mottershead make art that explores human identity, physicality, interaction, social rituals and the everyday public and private realms in which they are played out. Responding to unconventional sites, FrenchMottershead encourage participation and activate audiences through performance and mixed media. In 2005, they completed commissions for the National Review of Live Art, Arts Council England, Arnolfini, Finlands ANTI Festival and appeared at Psi#11 in Rhode Island, USA. FrenchMottershead are Artists in Residence for NRLA 2006.
