CLAIRE
Flagrante Delicto
A newly devised durational installation/performance by visual and live artist CLAIRE. The artist CLAIRE refuses to use her surname, employing a deliberate strategy of anonymity.
Her performances begin with the consideration of a basic action. For the NRLA, CLAIRE performs Flagrante Delicto, the simple action of slamming a series of doors for four hours. These acts are at once disturbing, mesmerising, and seductive investigations into the ways in which the body performs within architectural space.
CLAIRE is a graduate of Sunderland University where she completed a Degree in Fine Art. Since graduation she has continued to explore and develop her practice within a variety of contexts. Her most recent performance action was for the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead, as part of a specifically commissioned platform event.
