A live sound work from suburbia, West Midlands, Home is offering the audience time to take a peep into another place, where sounds of domestic, everyday and private lives float freely into a new space. For me this work looks at issues around our understanding of what home and domestic is, how much we share and differ in our relationships, living and the day to day. How private and secluded are we really? I hope the public's vicarious journeys through our home life will satisfy their curiosity of how others live and work as well as encouraging comparisons and reflections of their own situation. The work also explores my interest in sound itself, how we hear sound differently when it is separated from an image, how it behaves in spaces. How it deals with distance, intimacy, how it shapes people's perception, how does an audience listen. A sound work relayed live from suburbia, West Midlands.
