With references to Arthur Sarnoff's kitsch pub prints of dogs playing pool and Joseph Beuys' performance with a coyote in I like America and America likes me, a pack of pool playing coyote take to the Las Vegas tables in the amusement arcade a few doors along from The Arches. Las Vegas will be open for business as usual so the audience will be asked to respect the other users of the space, they will be able to come and go at will. Unedited documentary footage of the event will be shown in the Arches the following day. Topsy has recently worked with Tatsumi Orimoto for his Bread People opening event for BALTIC in Newcastle. Topsy's work is presented with the support of Northern Arts. With thanks to the Las Vegas amusement arcade, Glasgow. |
