For the third consecutive year, Michael Mayhew is an Artist in Residence at the NRLA. This role is an integral part of the Festival, placing the artist at the heart of activities and allowing them to play a significant role in the development of ideas and ways of working within live art practice. Michael Mayhew's activities will include:- the performance of #5 - 333; the production of a book, QR; a talk about the NRLA tour to Australia; and the organisation of Free State - where artists can arrange to present impromptu performances or events. Michael Mayhew began his artistic life with the Festival as a Platform artist in 1988 and has made many original works for the Festival since. He regularly works in Manezh, St Petersburg, Russia and was one of the artists who travelled to Australia for the NRLA tour to Brisbane and Perth.
