Áine Phillips has been making performance work for fifteen years in the west of Ireland and internationally. In the late 1980s she worked with community theatre groups developing street-based works. During the 1990s she worked as a performer, designer and director, often collaborating with companies in Madrid, New York and Austria. More recently, she has worked on solo projects, developing a performance practice to express personal and political concerns. She presented There is Only Love and Longing as part of the NRLA Platform at new territories 2002. She is head of Sculpture at the Burren College of Art in Ireland. Funded by the Arts Council of Ireland and the Cultural Relations Committee, Department of Foreign Affairs, Ireland. |
