Once you have walked round it a few times, the situation seems to be understandable enough. An imaginary space in the middle, with one door leading into it. The other door on the far side of it leads to who knows where.
Four people occupy this half-physical, half-virtual place, often occupying both at once, a live performer being shadowed by a life size video double. Mare’s Nest is a play about double, triple and quadruple lives interacting in the complex, augmented space where architecture and video meet.

Station House Opera was founded in 1980 since when it has developed into an internationally renowned performance company with a unique physical and visual style. The work varies enormously in scale and location and uses spectacle to explore the intimate relationship between people and the environment they inhabit.
