Molecules In Motion offers a series of stimulating interfaces between radical professional artists of international repute and local workshop participants between January and March 2002. Ranging over diverse landscapes such as the mainstage at Tramway and on-street explorations of Glasgow’s Social Inclusion Partnership areas, this community programme will cross-fertilise dance with play, sport with drama, visual arts with street culture in an exciting citywide workshop programme.
Taking
the theme of “mapping”, exploring topography in it’s widest sense from
genetic mapping through to urban navigation, choreographer Alito
Alessi (USA), theatre
director Garry Robson
(Scotland), dance artist Sarah
Johnson (Scotland), videographer Cairn
Production (Scotland) and Materiali
Resistenti (Italy) investigate the paths, patterns, boundaries and edges
of where the body meets place.
Workshop participants for the project come from a range of target communities citywide - residential care leavers, adults with a physical disability, young adults on low income, older people with limited mobility and skateboarders.
