Intersection is a programme of talks, artist intervention and exhibits
that focus on how the
individual navigates the urban environment, with particular reference to city
centres.
Introduced by Oren Lieberman from the Department of
Architecture and Building Science at the University of Strathclyde other
contributors include: Dr Jane Rendell, cultural theorist from University
College London; artists Toby Paterson, Sarah Johnson and Garry Robson.
Screenings by internationally
recognised artists will include Regarding the Fall by
‘Crutchmaster’ Bill Shannon, Out by Roddy Buchanan, Local by
Benji Bateman, Driftwood by Oliver Payne and
Nick Relph.
This event has been developed in conjunction with
the education department at the Lighthouse and will feature a Young Designers
exhibition of skateboard sculptural objects commissioned from Toby Paterson
(exhibition and screenings continue at The Lighthouse until Saturday 16 March
– free admission).
Intersection
includes
the Scottish book launch of Skateboarding and the City, the Body and
Architecture by Professor Iain Borden.
