"Dancers quietly slip in and out of video, interacting so closely with digital images that initially it is unclear which bodies are real and which are virtual" Herald Sun

Choreovideographer Cazerine Barry's two new solos continue to use integrated performance and video to create a seamless cinematic dance theatre. Sprung is inspired by a dislocated sense of home and place and, looking much like a Patrick Caulfield painting, is driven by the optimism of the sixties in Australia and the dream of home ownership. Lampscape examines Australia's dawn from a more colonial perspective. Both pieces examine the isolation of the anxious self in contrast to the agitation of contemporary life.

"This kind of work presents an image of humanism in context of digitally invented environments. The structure of the work encourages a temporal slippage allowing the audience to witness multiple dimensions within any single characterisation." Cazerine Barry

"Barry pulls things out of her choreographic box of tricks as rapidly as the virtual world she has created leads us into its trippy labyrinth." Erin Brannigan, Real Time
