I require electricity
Venue: the Middle Bar at The Arches
An outfitted girl appears, seemingly in a trance. She plugs herself in. Using a microphone and effect pedals, sounds - produced entirely by her mouth - are looped, layered and manipulated, creating an ephemeral soundscape that serves as a backdrop for yarn spinning. She is robosapien, a (wo)man melded to her machines; the organic nature of her speech is manipulated and replayed in real time. The audience witnesses the work's construction from scratch to totality with a potential for collapse, or collusion as unforeseen elements and improvisation are inevitable.
The whole: a unique, cinematic, electro-phonic, storytelling experience.
