Social Education for Girls

The piece is an exploration around the social conditioning of human behaviour, in particular, of the process of social education received by women around the world; the piece confronts the underlying behaviour learnt by women when they were girls, as well as the actual evolution of their social life as adults.
 A long-time scholar of performance art history, Alexander del Re became a performance artist in 1993, and since then he has performed in America, Europe, and Asia; performing in some of the leading performance art festivals from Canada, UK, Mexico, USA, and Japan.
 He has published essays in several magazines and books around the world, and lectured regularly in universities and museums.
 He is also artistic director and co-founder of PerfoPuerto, an independent performance art organization based in Santiago, Chile, which has produced several international performance art festivals in Chile, Uruguay, and Argentina since 2002, presenting the work of over 100 artists from 25 countries.
