A performance installation of endless, portable apologies.Full of too many things and people we would like to apologize for, or to. A recognition of the need to take responsibility in order to affect change.
Individuals stand in a space holding portable CD players. Alternating from one CD player to another there comes a continual whispered apology a confessional rapport is generated between performers, recordings and audience. The apologies cover personal, social, cultural, global, environmental, ethical and political issues and more.
A2 is a collaboration between Anton Mirto and Alit Kreiz, supported by the Arts Council England. The work was first presented as a work in progress at LIFT 04 Enquiry. Since 1999 A2 have devised experimental projects for the ICA and Tate Galleries, Hoxton Hall, London and Parc de la Villette in Paris.
